Oral and Maxillofacial surgery is surgery to correct a wide spectrum of diseases, injuries and defects in the head, neck, face, jaws and the hard and soft tissues of the oral and maxillofacial region covering the eye sockets and bony structure of the face and jay. Most of these surgeons have received training in both dentistry and internal medicine before specialisation. Maxillofacial surgeons treat cancers of arising in these part of the body, trauma and major congenital deformity involving the face and its bone structures and jaw.
